How to play CS:S v34 (non-Steam) servers?
Optix9's CS:S v34 servers run the classic version 34 of Counter-Strike: Source, popularized outside Steam. To play you need the v34 (non-Steam) client: open the console and type connect 155.117.117.76:27125 for Mix or connect 155.117.117.76:27115 for DM. It's free and no website registration is required.
What is Counter-Strike: Source v34?
v34 is the classic version 34 of Counter-Strike: Source, popularized outside Steam. Optix9's v34 servers are meant for players who use that classic client: you need the v34 (non-Steam) client to join, because the current Steam version of CS:S is not compatible with these servers. Optix9 is a free LATAM community and playing does not require registering on the website.
IP and ports of the CS:S v34 servers
All servers share the IP 155.117.117.76. For v34 there is Mix on ports 27125, 27135 and 27145, and DM on 27115. To connect, open the in-game console (enable it under Options → Keyboard if you don't have it) and type connect 155.117.117.76:27125 for Mix, or connect 155.117.117.76:27115 for DM. The full server list is at https://optix9.xyz/servers.
How are they different from the Steam CS:S servers?
Optix9 also runs servers for the current Steam version of CS:S: Mix on 27025, 27035 and 27045, DM on 27015 and Zombie Escape on 27095 (64 slots and around 266 ze_/zm_ maps). The Steam client joins those regular CS:S servers, not the v34 ones. If you play the Steam CS:S, use those ports; if you use the classic v34 (non-Steam) client, use ports 27115 to 27145.
Downloading maps and custom content
When you join any server, custom content (maps and sounds) downloads automatically via FastDL (fastdl.optix9.xyz). On CS:S and v34 your client must have cl_downloadfilter set to all (the default value) to download everything. If something doesn't download, check that variable in the console before reconnecting.
Preguntas frecuentes
Can I join the v34 servers with the Steam version of CS:S?
No. The current Steam CS:S joins Optix9's regular CSS servers (ports 27015 to 27095), but not the v34 ones. For v34 you need the classic v34 (non-Steam) client.
Do the v34 servers have a ranking?
Yes. Optix9 uses an ELO-style MMR per mode, including v34. You can check the ladder at https://optix9.xyz/ranks and your profile at /player/ followed by your SteamID64.
Do I need to register to play on Optix9?
No. Playing does not require registering on the website: just open the game and connect with the IP and port. For organized mixes and support there's the Discord: https://discord.gg/optix9.
Why aren't maps downloading when I join?
Check that cl_downloadfilter is set to all (the default value). With that, custom content downloads automatically via FastDL (fastdl.optix9.xyz).
